A leading mechanical contractor is seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic to support the installation of HVAC ductwork and mechanical systems on commercial and institutional construction projects throughout South Florida. This position is responsible for installing ductwork, dampers, HVAC equipment, louvers, supports, hangers, grilles, and related sheet metal systems while ensuring quality workmanship, safety compliance, and adherence to project schedules. The ideal candidate will have commercial HVAC construction experience and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a field installation team. Responsibilities: * Install galvanized, stainless steel, aluminum, fiberglass duct board, spiral, and round duct systems * Install fire dampers, smoke dampers, and fire/smoke dampers per code requirements * Fabricate and perform field modifications to ductwork as needed * Install HVAC equipment including air handling units, rooftop units, fan coil units, exhaust fans, and terminal boxes * Install duct supports, equipment supports, roof curbs, rails, and associated hardware * Install grilles, registers, diffusers, and related HVAC accessories * Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and cut sheets * Perform duct pressure testing and system inspections * Coordinate material handling, deliveries, and storage activities * Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area * Follow company safety practices and project requirements at all times Qualifications: * Minimum 3 years of commercial sheet metal installation experience * Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC ductwork installation practices * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications * Experience installing HVAC equipment, supports, dampers, grilles, and diffusers * Experience using hand tools, lasers, saws, drills, and layout equipment * Ability to perform field modifications and adjustments as needed * Reliable transportation * Must possess required sheet metal hand tools * Ability to work overtime as needed
